Three of Desert Jet's most popular private jets will be on display at the event; the 8 seat Citation Encore, Citation V and the newest addition to the fleet, a 9 seat Citation Bravo. Desert Jet pilots will be on hand to provide tours of the aircraft and answer questions about flying on private jets. Guests will be able to watch the air show from Desert Jet's shaded private facilities and enjoy a sumptuous catered BBQ lunch with hosted bar.

Melody Tharp of Desert Jet Earns FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License
La Quinta, CA - July 31, 2011 - Desert Jet, an aircraft management and jet charter provider based in Southern California, has announced that Melody Tharp has earned the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher License after an intensive year of training and study.
The training and certification course was provided by Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. at their training facility in Houston, Texas. Tharp was awarded The Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. FAA Dispatcher License Training and Certification Course Scholarship, presented by Women in Corporate Aviation at the 2010 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Recipients of this award were chosen by a panel of aviation professionals who reviewed each applicant’s experience level as well as their determination and motivation to grow in their positions.
To become an FAA-licensed Aircraft Dispatcher, applicants must demonstrate extensive knowledge of meteorology, aircraft performance and aviation regulations, equal to the knowledge required to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot license.

Desert Jet Named The Official Jet Provider for the Bob Hope Classic

The 52nd annual Bob Hope Classic will be held on January 17-23, 2011. La Quinta, California, November 1, 2010, -- Desert Jet, the leading aircraft charter and management company based in the Palm Springs area, announced that it will award a $1,000 scholarship at the 22st Annual International Women in Aviation Conference, February 24-26, 2011, in Reno, Nevada. Desert Jet is sponsoring this scholarship to promote the professional development and leadership skills of business aviation pilots who seek careers in aviation management or desire to start their own aviation-related business. It is envisioned that a pilot would be able to transition into a position of leadership with the training provided by this scholarship.
